VG Innovations - makers of the Verteloc System

VG Innovations, LLC (VGI), founded in 2007 based on an invention developed by Tov Vestgaarden, PhD, is an innovative medical device company focused on using its industry knowledge and creative thinking to develop and commercialize a broad range of advanced, high-performance and spinal implants. VGI developed its first product, the VerteLoc™ Minimally Invasive Spine Stabilization System, to overcome the limitations of currently available implants. The VerteLoc™ system is specifically designed to address low back pain caused by facet osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis, utilizing a unique patent-pending dual geometric design to limit motion of the affected spinal segment.

VGI is on the way to establishing VerteLoc™ as new standard of care, by providing a true option for earlier intervention in the continuum of spinal care. This is further evidenced by Millennium Research Group's report, entitled, US Markets for Minimally Invasive Spine Technologies 2008. In only four months after product launch, VGI was recognized as the top emerging company in their respective market space, which the report estimates to be worth $385 million by 2012. The report stated, "This company (VGI) will be able to leverage off of efforts made by its predecessors in promoting facet fixation technology using an allograft. Furthermore, its patent pending rectangular design, with dual vertical stabilizers, is expected to minimize the risk of dowel displacement following implantation, a major concern with competing allograft dowels."

The VerteLoc™ system was first implanted on May 27, 2008.
